Folks,
Come on down to Skidmore Market this weekend and say howdy. And if you’re wondering what Skidmore Market is, it’s the one right next to Portland Saturday Market.
Like most people, you probably didn’t realize there’s more than one market there, but there is. Portland Saturday Market is under the Burnside Bridge (and headed for Riverfront Park) and Skidmore Market is across the Max tracks. That’s the one I’m in.
As far as I know, I will be next to the honey and spice guy. If you’re walking in on the main drag from SW 2nd Ave., he’s the first booth on the left, and I’ll be behind him. That’s 10 to 5:30 Saturday, 11 to 5 Sunday.
I’m selling hiking books, the breakfast book, and the new breakfast poster. And if you can’t make the market, check out my new online store. Click here or on the “Order The Book” link above. I take credit cards online and at the market!

As of today, you can buy Breakfast in Bridgetown at two more locations in town: the Multnomah Athletic Club gift shop (actually called The Emporium) and Presents of Mind, 3633 SE Hawthorne. Go get ‘em!

Memphis Magazine did a story recently about making marriages work in the long-term, and one of their featured couples was none other than my parents, married since August 6, 1955. And since I am their proud son, you have to read about them right here!

That little paper back east just can’t write enough good stuff about our fair city. In this case, they have gotten onto the Alberta Street story — a little late, of course, but whatever. And in this case they gave some love to two fine breakfast places, Tin Shed and Helser’s.
So I figured I’d share it with my dozen or so readers. And yes, that’s the actual daily count, according to Google.

Since the whole world seems to be into “favorites” and lists, here’s my brief, very non-scientific, not final, thoroughly subjective list of my favorite breakfast dishes in town.
(All I did here was go through the table of contents and write down what I came up with. Then I edited, because I had too many.)
